    The Sheffield Blitz

On the 12th December and 15th December 1940, Sheffield was attacked by German Luftwaffe. This operation was referred to as ‘Operation Crucible’ by the Germans. The Marples Hotel received a direct hit. 625 people lost their lives during the blitz. One of which was my great-great grandmother Florence (Turley) Wright. It was a night that shall never be forgotten.

    Exploring Sheffield

Due to the lovely snowfall that happened a few days ago my usual Friday morning lesson was cancelled, much to my annoyance.
