February 2021 Wrap Up

This month has been rough for me. I’ve not been very well and I was struggling to read novels this month so most of the books I’ve read this month have been manga.

I’m only going to count each complete series of Manga as one “book” since if I count each individual volume it puts the books read this month at 161. So excluding all the individual volumes for the completed series I’ve read 28 books this month.

My favourite this month was Love In Focus by Yoko Nogiri. I stumbled across this manga when I was looking on Goodreads for an if you like [insert] we recommend [insert]. This manga is character-driven and focuses on Mako Mochizuki as she journeys through high school life. It explores grief, friendship and romance and I really loved the art style.

My least favourite this month was The Charmed Wife by Olga Grushin. I didn’t really know what to expect when I started this novel. I was on a kick for a fairytale retelling and I thought the concept was interesting. The story was inconsistent in its chronology and I found it difficult to follow at times.
