My plan this year is to read 75 books. I only just managed it last year so let’s see how well I do this year!
Let’s jump right in with my January wrap up.
E-Books
The Elements of the Crown by Kay L Moody – ★★★★
The Boy Who Lived in the Ceiling by Cara Thurlbourn – ★★★★★
The Diviners by Libba Bray – ★★★
Physical Books
Sword of Destiny by Andrzej Sapkowski – ★★★★
A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer – ★★★★★
I had two five star ratings this month, I’ve previously read A Curse so Dark and Lonely and my review of it hasn’t changed. The Boy who Lived in the Ceiling is a new read, and I was provided with the ARC in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely loved this story, it took me a little longer than usual to read it but that was more to do with my busy schedule than the actual novel. I would happily have curled in front of my fireplace and consumed this in one sitting.
My least favourite was We. It’s not that it was a bad novel. It is just one that I probably wouldn’t re-read. I have always struggled with classic novels, I did enjoy the concept of the story as a whole I just struggled with how it was written.
