Music Monday: Dying In LA

I saw Danni @ForBooksSake doing Music Monday and thought it sounded like a great idea so I decided this year I’m going to introduce it as a new regular post.

I like the idea of sharing another love of mine other than books and let me tell you my music taste is a strange blend. I love musicals, pop and rock but I will be throwing in some weird and wonderful bands that my boyfriend has introduced me too in the six years we’ve been together (and he’s a metalhead so you can only imagine what may be coming your way).

I’ll start this new segment with one of my favourite songs from Panic! At The Disco. Honestly I love everything they produce but this song really spoke to me and it is one I absolutely love to listen too.

Dying In LA by Panic! At the Disco

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
The moment you arrived, they built you up
The sun was in your eyes, you couldn’t believe it
Riches all around, you’re walking
Stars are on the ground, you start to believe it

[Pre-Chorus]
Every face along the boulevard
Is a dreamer just like you
You looked at death in a tarot card
And you saw what you had to do

[Chorus]
But nobody knows you now, when you’re dying in LA
And nobody owes you now, when you’re dying in LA
When you’re dying in LA, when you’re dying in LA
The power, the power, the power
Oh, the power, the power, the power
Of LA

[Verse 2]
Nights at the chateau, trapped in your sunset bungalow
You couldn’t escape it, yeah
Drink of paradise, they told you to put your blood on ice
You’re not gonna make it

[Pre-Chorus]
Every face along the boulevard
Is a dreamer just like you
You looked at death in a tarot card
And you saw what you had to do

[Chorus]
But nobody knows you now, when you’re dying in LA
And nobody owes you now, when you’re dying in LA
When you’re dying in LA, when you’re dying in LA
The power, the power, the power
Oh, the power, the power, the power
Of LA
