Theme of the Box
Description by Book Box Club
May kindness conquer all! Our theme for June will be COURAGEOUS AND KIND and will celebrate characters (and members!) whose smiles brighten even the trickiest of times.
Our featured read for June is a stunning hardback, not due for publication until July (so Book Box Club members will get to read it before anyone else)! Set during the dangerous Dark Ages, this is the epic tale of a young girl’s fight for survival… To succeed she’ll need a seriously courageous spirit and all the strength of sisterhood!
The Items
Have Courage and Be Kind Banner
Designed by Georgiou Draws
I’m not usually one to hang inspirational quotes but I really liked this one. I have it hanging in the guest room.
Rainbow Jellies
Designed by: Bear and Bee Sweet Co
They are jelly sweets – there not really anything additional I can say about them.
Courage Dear Heart Window Sticker
Designed by: Forensics and Flowers
I wouldn’t stick this on my windows – it is really nicely designed. I just wish it was a print instead of a window sticker.
Mini Flower Kit
Designed by Book Box Club
Miniature Plant Pot
Designed by Blanca Gomez
Featured Books : The Short Knife by Elen Caldecott
It is the year 454AD. The Roman Empire has withdrawn from Britain, throwing it into the chaos of the Dark Ages. Mai has been kept safe by her father and her sister, Haf. But when Saxon warriors arrive at their farm, the family is forced to flee to the hills where British warlords lie in wait. Can Mai survive in a dangerous world where speaking her mother tongue might be deadly, and where even the people she loves the most can’t be trusted?
I was a little mixed with this box, I liked the banner and the plant pot but I wasn’t really fussed about the sticker or the jellies.
